Holiday Gifts You Can Make

The HdG Arts Collective is offering an opportunity for kids and teens to be inspired and challenged by creative art projects, taught by artist Laura Numsen.

Created for kids and teens, this FREE online art class will be held on Saturday, December 12 from 10:00am - 11:00am.

Join us to create very special gifts for people in your family. It's easier than you think! I'll walk through several easy options. You can do one or more within our time together. Parents welcome too!

For a door swag - You will need scissors and scraps of fabric, or precut strips of fabric (approx 1/2 - 1 inch by 6-12'' long) and also a piece of string or yarn, 3-4ft long. Raffia string is optional.

It's great to have different colors and sizes of scraps. All we'll be doing for this project is tying strip of fabric onto the string or yarn. It's easy, and pretty!

For the jar candle holders - You'll just need a clean jar, tissue paper and glue or glue stick.

For ornaments - popsicle sticks and markers, buttons and glue. We'll cut a stem from cardboard, a star from yellow paper.

For other ornaments - Cardboard (from a cereal box is fine, or a paper plate) to cut circles or any shapes you like, glue stick, markers, buttons if you wish, scraps of color paper if you wish. Small piece of tin foil optional. Oh, and small pieces of string to hang them!
