Lynne Galloro

Throughout my career as an artist and public school art teacher, I have explored a variety of media, yet I always return to ceramics. Clay, with its almost limitless possibilities for creative expression, has allowed me to expand my vision and how I connect with the mind of the viewer and the environment. Much of my work involves making wheel thrown forms, often incorporating words and sculptural elements to engage thought, as well. However, I also appreciate the simplicity of a purely functional piece of pottery as it can play an intimate role in our everyday lives.
After retiring from 32 years of teaching in Montgomery County, Maryland, I moved to Havre de Grace where I discovered an abundance of treasure in the spirit of the community. I feel blessed to be part of a sphere of local kinship here.
I share an art studio (Strawberry Lane Studio) with my wonderful and talented husband, Nic Galloro at the 200 block of Strawberry Lane.
